Bill of Rights Project
All students are required to complete this project in Social Studies. This download shows pages for all 10 amendments, however, students only need to complete the first four amendments. Download the project here.
A digital version of this may be completed using Google Docs combined with Google Draw or Sumo Paint
Directions:
1. Read the amendment found at the top of (each) page. Discuss it, look up words that you may not understand, and once you understand it write down what it means in your own words in the first box located in the upper left corner.
2. Draw a picture that represents the amendment. For example, the 7th amendment provides the right to a jury at a trial. You could draw a picture of a court room with a criminal, lawyers, a judge, jury, and perhaps spectators. Your picture should be in color, detailed, and an example of your best art work. Markers will bleed through the paper so if you have colored pencils those would work best. You may borrow some from me if needed.
3. Next, write one example of the amendment in the box located in the lower left corner. For the 7th amendment an example would be that Kwame Kilpatrick was accused of a crime and was provided a trial to determine his guilt.
4. In the last box, give an example of the right being violated. For example, locking up somebody in jail and not allowing him or her to have a trial.
