Understanding Positive and Negative Integers These are all 6th Grade Codes- Be sure to set ixl to 6th grade first!
Here is a graphic organizer to use when taking notes on the videos.
Video 1 Negative integers using a number line Complete code M3 (Note: if you have questions about opposite numbers view the video on absolute value on this list.)
Video 2 Understanding positive and negative integers using elevation Complete code M4
Video 1 Absolute Value and opposite numbers Complete code M2
Video 3 Understanding positive and negative integers using temperature. Complete code T9
Video 4 Understanding integers with money. Complete code M1

Graphing
Video 1 How to plot ordered pairs on the coordinate plane. Complete code X1 and X2
Video 1 Explains how to use a graph to solve map problems. Complete code X4. *Please note that you may want to review code X3 first to understand what the four different quadrants are. This is optional
Complete the following assignments and submit before continuing:

Properties
Video 1 Commuatative Property (Numbers may be added or multiplied in any order to get the same sum.)
Video 2 Multiplication properties of 0 and 1. (Multiplicative Identity- a number multiplied by 1 is itself. Zero property- a number multiplied by zero is zero.
Video 3 Distributive property
Video 4 Associative property
Here is another resource on properties that you may select instead of watching videos or in addition to the videos. Look for the "next" button on the lower right side of the screen to begin the notes. These are a little harder to understand then the videos, but may be faster.
Complete code Y7, Y8, AND Y9 after viewing this set of videos. Note: if Y9 is difficult see me for a video option or quick mini lesson.

Additive Inverse
Video 1 Make 10 examples of additive inverses and show the teacher before moving on.
Adding Integers Using a Number Line
Video 1 Show 10 addition problems on number lines that involve both the same sign and different signs to the teacher before moving on.
Adding Integers Using Counters
Video 1 Make a set of counters here first before starting your code. Use your counters as you work through the problems. Complete codes N1 with the counters, then complete N2 without them. If N2 is difficult without the counters, you may use them. You may also choose to use a number line model to assist you. Practice these codes until you earn a Smartscore of 100.
Here is a fun game you may play to practice adding integers. This is only during free choice time!!

Subtracting Integers Using Counters and Using the Additive Inverse
Video 1 Please have tiles and pencil and paper with you when you view this video. Complete code N3 (6th grade).
Video 2 Complete code N5 and an additional 20 problems on N3 (without the use of tiles) using this method. Note: You will need to be able to show me BOTH methods on a test!
