1. Start here and watch the first tutorial video. It will show you how to get started. The site uses blockly coding similar to Code.org. A "sprite" is a character in your program. The video will show you what they are and how to make them do things.
2. On the tutorial page notice that there are many short tutorials that will teach you specfic skills. Look at the titles of the tutorials to quickly find what you need to learn. On your first try just make a goal of getting used to using Scratch and know that you might make some mistakes. Just stick with it and you will get better and soon create pretty amazing programs!
3. On this page you will find all sorts of fun guides and project ideas. Find one that looks fun, then click on the image. It will then open up Scratch. Notice on the right side of the screen is the tutorial video that will show you what to do. You could also print off the "cards" for the project. When you click on the link that says "See cards and guides" you will then find the activity cards. These will show you what to do on paper that can be printed out. You decide what is best for you!
4. On the tutorial page toward the bottom there is a video titled "Make a simple game" and "Make a story" that you might find fun to try!
