Prezi Explorer Project
In class students completed together a case study on Christopher Columbus and further reviewd a Prezi presentation on this explorer. Students then must select one explorer to create a Prezi presentation on for the class. Click here to download the explorers. Please note that your student may not select Christoper Columbus. You may go to Prezi.com and view a free tutorial on how to use this wonderful site! The Prezi presentation must answer the following questions about the explorer: 1. What were his goals? 2. What were his motivations or reasons for exploring? 3. What challenges or obstacles did he face? 4. What did he accomplish? 5. What were the consequences of his explorations? 6. What are some other important facts or ideas that you learned?
Once students answer the questions then keywords for each question must be selected to use in the Prezi presentation. The presentation should not show complete sentences, as it is difficult for the viewer to read a lot of text. Consequently, students must be able to select key words that represents the important ideas for the explorer. Students also need to drop in images, links, videos, etc to help communicate the information.
Here is a link to tutorials on how to create a Prezi: http://prezi.com/learn/ Just click on the video on the far left to learn the basics. Each subsequent video adds to the skill level. We will keep these presentations at the private setting so that they may not be viewed by the general public.
